Till now, i used to believe that USCIS is working hard and eventually they will clear all the backlogs and give the GC to everyone. but by seeing your post, i think i am mistaken, they are doing a big mistake by giving a GC to people like you.
Once you become a gc holder and then a citizen, you will question a lot of other things, like giving social security/medicare to poor people who have not contributed and will also question the tax cut(1000$) given to each child when claimed as dependent , as you will argue that , i was doing my second Phd and others who dont have anything else to do, made children and are now claiming the cut.
All i am saying is that american people are in great danger by allowing people like you to get the GC and citizenship.

However, I will dissect the above post line by line to pinpoint exactly why some people completely deserve the treatment that they get. Here I demonstrate how a healthy discussion is hijacked by imbeciles and that is why IV is doomed to failure.

Thanks man for your replies. I'm gathering as much as I can. All the tickets, birth certs.
Plus, to add to the complication, I've also confirmed ticket to meet them at Frankfurt on their way to US. My Euro vacation for a week would collapse and have to cancel everything.
I'm try to keep myself sane. There are much worse situations people are facing in this forum ( for example, a ninth pregnant lady getting laid off).
Just hoping (and praying) that this can be solved smoothly.

There is No sense is passing a rule/memo like this where the consultant/Employee is affected badly.USCIS changes their views and rules on a need to need basis which should be struck down by the court of law.We as immigriants to US and we have every right to fight this rule and also need to support the need to revoke this rule.
Even a criminal gets a chance to plea in the court as not guilty,but we dont get a chance beyond the immigration counters.We continue to contribute so much tax dollars and all of that shouldnt go in Vain.People have lives and Families and they can never build or continue the future invested here in US.
I agree that the rule will make sense for new H1�s or extensions but i dont not agree that it should be passed on people randomly.USCIS should force such a rule on the Employer and not go against H1 Employees.
This Rule should be taken by employers to implement new standards of practicing consulting and not try to find loop holes in the system.Obviously we should have seen this coming which is ripple effect of all the employers exploiting the Consulting business.
H1 or EAD or GC ,All Immigrants need to stand united to fight this fight.

Show some Courage Dude. Take up a role in your state chapter, go meet the lawmaker, Educate them on the difficulties we face, write to the reporters & highlight our issues. Contact the Core and ask for responsibilities. I am sure the Core would be happy to delegate some of the responsibilities to you.

May be US corporations can tactically support this bill because this bill will impact Indian bodyshoppers severly. For past 5 years US companies could not compete with Indian companies as they have more leverage on H1b. Now if Indian companies avoid H1b US companies can get any time they want as they can satisfy most of conditions

How do you know what I care about and not? I can give some famous examples of GC holders working for IV - Aman Kapoor founder member, Tamsen Mitchell (franklin) leader of South California chapter, and many more.
I may remain active if I feel the cause is worth spending my time, money and effort. Right now, a crowd of 25,000 tracking receipts and discussing mundane issues doesn't give me the confidence to say so. I have better things in life to fight for than a lost cause where the victims (most of them) wait for others to fight for them !

But pls understand that if IV is transparent in its lobbying power , this might be an indication to our opponents to raise their funding drive.
Its all about Money in US and its lobbying power, hence it is not going to help in anyway for us.
As far as I know, no other anti-immigration orgnanization is transparent in their funding power.

I have received email notification of RFE last friday April 3rd. I am waiting for actual RFE mail notice. I talked to IO and she said mail notice sent to my home adress? Typically, how long it takes to receive mail notice? 1 week or 2 to 3 days?

Understood. Now you want all H1 L1 B1 everything to be stopped. So lets vote only for EAD/AP/GC till you get your GC. After that US should stop GC also, right? (but ofcourse, naturalization still should remain open for a few more years).
If one person can work for your job at $8/hr, and you are charging $100/hr, market would adjust itself to $8/hr (for a moment forget about who does this $8/hr, it can be a high-school kid, or anybody).The only reason why somebody blames that $8/hr kid for loosing his job is because he "thinks" he is "superior" to that kid. There are many situations where companies decide to retain "fresh college grads" and layoff "senior experienced" persons, to save money.
Don't take me wrong, but I also think the L1 is mis-used a bit. But I personally think the mis-usage comes from other factors (like H1 unavailability, employer prefer L1 because employee cannot change to another employer in L1, other H1 restrictions) etc..

Because of this guys are not even going to the hospital.

So our common goal is to fix the broken system, remove the employer's undue advantage over the employee. No matter if they are MNC or desi consulting companies.
