Took an infopass to find out why my spouse's case was not approved. A rude IO told that the background check was not completed yet, and it would take 30-60 days. Asked us to wait for 30-60 days. She looked and talked rude, so I did not ask her "if the background check was started or not". So, the question is how to expedite the background process, so that it will be cleared.

Correct. It is a bill that was signed into a law. Though USCIS follows AC21 in form of Memos, the law is binding and that's why we see that AC21 always works . It cannot be compared to the new h1b memo.

For PMP I think, you need to take some courses, I had taken some courses at Berkeley Online on project management, these courses count towards PMP.
They also have in class courses, if you are interested.
Better to do something than nothing.

DOL should not have given this advance notice, I am sure that all Desi consulting companies now aware of this rule will try to sell of their approved labors before April and approved labors will be available even in vegetable market.
There is lot of chance they would do this, and unfortunately we cannot avoid that, lets counter this by creating awareness among our members and GC seeker's community of how much risk involved in buying an approved labor at this time.

And as far as "nothing is happening, let's get temporary relief and let's not fight for more numbers" idea is concerned, we are already doing that by trying to get 485 filing provision done in next few days as a temporary relief.

Thank you for encouraging other IV members for contributing. As you know, this is very important and more amongst us should encourage our fellow IV members to contribute. Often times it is evident that few IV members are struggling to keep a positive tone on the forums. As you may have experienced, it is easy to post few messages here and there. Yes it applies for IV too. We have a handful of monthly subscribers because everyone wants the other person to pay for it. If the problem needs to be solved, each victim needs to fight this problem.

As I had lots of written evidence so it took me close to 30 minutes to prepare the everything but normally it should take no more than 10 minutes. The DOL, Wage and Hour division, takes care of all the such complaints and the identity of the filer is kept confidential to the fullest extent provided by law.

I spoke with an investigator (who was very professional and courteous) who told me that even though FedEx shows the package was delivered they cannot locate it. The investigator asked me to resubmit the package which I did the next day. I received a letter from the DOL after 2 weeks saying my complaint has been received; they even assigned me a complaint number which I can use to track the progress of the complaint by calling their office. The DOL combined mine and my coworker's complaint together and assigned both of us the same complaint number; my coworker filed his complaint few days after I had filed mine.

i am with you. we should request that USCIS recapture unused visas!
Lets ask Core not to just go with the temporary fix of July visa bulliten.
We might apply for EAD and AP but what if they throw our papers some where and repeat the same thing.
This time they will be very careful in issuing visa bulliten
In future very slow progression in visa dates...adjudicating cases very slowly always stating that due to july visa bulliten we have lots of cases ...we will not be able to do anything until we sort ou...blah blah...
This is not the fix
We should be firm with our goals...
Lets come up with some ideas....
Lets not ask what to do...lets think and come up with an idea...and then we shall decide if it works or not...
When some one first suggested flower campaign everyone took it as a joke...it was not implemented before some one sent the flowers and showed the receipt number...
I was following core for a long time...this the biggest response i have ever seen from the members...
Lets continue it...
My idea ...lets not just accept the temporary fix...we should fight the congress until they come up with a plan of fixing the GC issue.
The congress talks about fixing illegal immigration..Lets ask them to fix the legal immigration first.
Unless we are really strong about it...nothing can be accomplished..
They cant fix the existing legal system but they are ready with the plans of fixing illegal immigration...of course it failed but still they had big impact...

of the 300,000K applications would be between these dates. When DOL adjudicated 180K applications, about half were already abandoned. If roughly half of the applications are approved, that would be 300K Visas including dependents.
An interim relief about 200K green cards will take care of problems tremendesly......But Schedule A is eating up unused visa's.
I feel like, it would be good idea to go for some recaptured visas at (least200K) than fighing for a whole immigration package.

I-485 RD: 06/06/2007 and ND: 06/15/2007
I have converted my EB3 PD to EB2. Last month i applied for EAD renewal thinking that it might trigger my GC approval(some people still believe in this)
Today i received my EAD with 2 yrs extension. I consider this as a bad sign because USCIS clearly states that if the visa is unavailable then they will issue 2 yr EAD.

After taking all these efforts i recently received response for one of the SRs(for june 08) stating these type of cases taking time for approval and i need to wait patiently.
I dont know if i can wait anymore because i have been waiting for close to 7 yrs.
Now in this situation can you guys please let me know what i should do and what should be my next move?
