If you are not feeling pity about the fellow immigrants who suffered injustice (also from India) you are selfish a individual. FYI more than 60% of the 2007 July fiasco were substitutes I am neither IV core nor you (as per Profile). So all these guys can do is to bring this issue to their attention. Hi all,
I have been following this thread and some posts suggest that the Observation on the passport for correcting the name is sufficient. Here is my situation:
My passport had the name as:
Surname: A***********
Given name: P****
The correct name should be (since this is how I use it in the US now and it applies to all my docs here - GC, DL, school records, everywhere).
Surname: P****
Given name: A***********
I got this corrected in the Indian passport through an "Observation" on Page 3 which states:
The name of the passport holder appearing on Page 1 has been corrected to read as:
Surname: P****
Given name: A***********
Since this is not a "name change" as such but simply a re-alignment of the last and first names (often a source of confusion from India), I hope this is sufficient and I don't have to go through a name change to get a new passport book issued.
Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

i think v r f'ed up big time; part of the problem was setting our hopes higher.
on another note, if some ppl call this a rumor, I would say this is US and "almost all" rumors in US are true.
I just hope its not true.
Vldrao is not a god. His assumptions are based on the facts from USCIS data, Do you know that 22k visas were not issued. If yes,quote that. Nobody knows and all are playing guessing game. Leave him alone.

I think there would be a substantial relief if unused visas are reallocated to oversubscribed countries as in 2003/2004.
Also the 'side' flow might help immensely.
As I stated earlier only a US Citizen can petition USCIS for release of information.
All we can do is speculate.

And as I said before knowing about child abuse and not notifying the cops is a bigger crime than hiring an illegal alien . In this case the child depends upon you for protection and you know about the abuse but you are considering whether to notify the cops or not !
This can come back on you itself in case someone else notifies the police ( your friend maybe ? ) The Department of Social Services is very strict in this country and I believe your child is a US citizen considering that he is only 8 months old ( most probably ).
How can you think of not getting justice for your child who cannot defend himself and not get justice himself. If he could speak believe me he would want to see the nanny in prison.

If it is true, they have revised the process, and that is good. Hoever, it also depends on how the question was posed. If you asked whether processing is based on RD or ND, they will defnitely tell it is RD. One need to ask, which of two dates will determine case processing status, if your stamped RD is 3 months earlier than the receive date you see online. Note that the site tells you to contact them if your "receipt notice date" is prior to the published date, and you are still waiting. What is "receipt notice date"?

The world of politics is driven by numbers; you do not have enough numbers to get any lawmaker interested. So wake up Macacas, admit it, you all are bunch of losers.
So far as the skills are concerned, you have been harping on the theme that you are highly skilled? If the definition of highly skilled is a mere undergrad degrees then 75% of Adult Americans are highly skilled. I bet not even 5% of you have PHDs and you call yourself highly skilled. Huhhh
And this for the leadership of your organization: You are wasting your time. If you are so desperate to get green cards contact me. Hi, I'm very tensed. I applied for H-1B under master CAP. I have finished all degree requirements including depositing PhD thesis. However, at the time of filing I could not wait for a letter from the registrar (it takes 5 business days).
So, I filed with a letter from my dept. The letter has the letterhead of the university and states that I completed all degree requirements and will graduate May 13th. It is signed by the dept associate dean.
Would that suffice? Could the petition be denied?
I have seen some denials but all for ppl who hasn't actually completed all requirements at the time of filing.
The petition was filed under regular processing, VSC. I got a receipt notice dated April/24. Online status still shows case pending.

Can someone advice on this.
Currently I am on H1B visa and I will apply my AOS before 17th august as dependent(Secondary applicant).
After applying AOS if I have to leave my job then will I be out of status since I won't be on H1 status and I won't be on H4 ?
Can I leave my job after applying AOS or I have to wait till We get receipts of 485?

You will be in "pending adjustment" status as a dependent, but since you're not on a H4 I am not sure what may be in store. Check with a good lawyer.
